Hurd Montgomery, Attorney at Daryl Reese Law PC, recently earned the ANSI-accredited Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US) credential through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). ¬†Complimenting Sarah’s estate planning practice, she has been assisting clients with drafting website privacy policies to comply with California’s Online Privacy Protection Act which mandates that businesses that collect personally identifiable information from California consumers MUST post a clear and conspicuous privacy policy on their website. ¬†CalOPPA is enforced under the scope of California’s Unfair Competition Law and could include penalties of up to $2,500 per violation.
